Further to my reply above, and that of Baronoli.
I have also just done a software update on battery alone, albeit the selector was in hybrid, The engine did not kick in and the update took circa 35 minutes

Re: Map &firmware updates
I also have a plug in hybrid and although the car invariably starts in 'electric' mode, I found that by selecting 'hybrid' when updating maps or infotainment, the vehicle remains 'running' throughout the update. Whether running on battery or switching to the engine. It decides. This will not damage ...

I found that simply moving my foot straight under the bumper and back out around the middle of the bumper, (no swinging left and right), and it operates without fail.

Check the small cubby hole on the dash to the right of the steering wheel on the Grandland. (Might have to remove it to see it).

Re: Drivers door lock - Cold weather
Mine doing the same.
I know it is not a permanent fix but in the short term, if this happens pulling the door closed and locking it using the button on the dash appears to reset the mechanism and engages the lock/latch.
Please let us know if new door lock works.

I have an Ultimate and it is the same. I find that it does keep the actual painted sills clean though so has its uses?

Re: Satnav
Thanks for fuller and accurate explanation above.

Re: ANNOYING RATTLE.
Try checking the rear seatbelts.
I found that if mine had been left at the side of the seat, I.e. off the seatback, the buckle rattled slightly against the harder material.
