Re: Hybrid electric battery range

The range quoted isn't an absolute figure, it is a computer estimate based on recent consumption of energy. It's now the middle of winter, and perhaps the heating is on? If you drive around in electric mode the only place the energy for the heater to come from is the drive battery. Drive around with...

Re: How to drive in pure electric mode?

Coatgallou, many thanks for your comments; common sense would suggest that your assessment is correct, but in the wee small hours of a insomniac night I started to wonder if there wasn't more to the issue. So I did a lot more research on line, read I don't know how many websites, and reached the fol...

Re: How to drive in pure electric mode?

I have had a similar problem: car will not go into electric mode, starts in hybrid mode and stays there. ICE runs but car moves with electric drive. The problem didn't appear all at once but came on gradually over a week or two, just before Christmas. Took it into VX about 2 weeks ago, who immediate...

Re: My Vauxhall

There appear to be ongoing works/problems with the My Vauxhall app. It is worth reading the review comments on Google Play Store. I found that the journey logging became erratic in late October, then from 6th November for about 2 weeks it logged no journeys at all, and during this period also stoppe...

Re: New Grandland Finally Arrived....

I had a Grandland Sport petrol auto before my hybrid - and that was a great car, which is why I wanted to stay with the Grandland on upgrade. I agree about the styling, though. There is no right or wrong of course, but a more-digital instrument panel and the forthcoming Mokka front end will help. I ...

Congratulations on your new car. I ordered my Hybrid4 in September when the books opened, and I received it in February, so I have now done around 2200 miles in it. Once you are used to the differences (which doesn't take long!) it's great. Around town (most of my driving) it is smooth, quick, silen...

Re: Driver Power 2020 customer satisfaction survey (source Auto Express)

I agree completely. When I was looking to change my car last autumn, I looked at both the Grandland and the 3008 and chose the Grandland because I preferred the style. When it comes to style and design there is no right or wrong - it is quite subjective; we all like different things, thank goodness!...

Re: Tail Lights

Looking via google it seems that the general view is that LED bulbs for cars should last up to 50,000 hours. This is many times the life of filament bulbs. Someone calculated that at 10 hours use per day, the average lifetime for LEDs should be more than 13 years. So lifespan shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Grandland X Hybrid 4 pricing

Re my comment about the glass roof panel. I emailed VX to see what was what about which models will have the roof panel. The answer is that it is not standard on any of the PHEVs and it isn't an option either. This seems to be confirmed by looking at the models on the Opel sites around Europe. PHEV=...
