Re: Stop / Start issues

Update to S/S issue on my Elite Nav S/S battery problems. Following on from the dealer having the car in at the start of November for a full battery charge I've now done a good couple of weeks doing my usual driving. On the first day S/S worked perfectly, even with the air-con on. I then used the he...

Re: Stop / Start issues

Lock-N, many thanks for that. Can't say I'm looking forward to it, especially over Christmas, but could not turn it down when hospital phoned.
As for the car I'm hoping to get a friend to start it for me so it can run for a while a couple of times. Fingers crossed. Could do without this S/S problem.

Re: Stop / Start issues

Lock-N regarding your parking the car for 4 to 6 weeks, I'm in a similar position in that I'm due for a hip replacement op on 27th. Told not allowed to drive for 6 weeks. Car will be parked in garage for this time. As the garage is in a block there is no power to charge battery. I asked the service ...

Re: Stop / Start issues

A friend suggested writing to Honest John web regarding the batteries to see if he was aware of this problem. His reply was that he'd heard of this specifically related to the Grandland X, Peugeot 3008, (there's a surprise). and the Citron C5 Aircross. He also stated with regenerating alternators lo...

Re: Stop / Start issues

Well it's now 1 1/2 weeks since getting the car back from it's full charge. As I said above the S/S worked perfectly the first day after, even with the Air-con on. Couple days later I got the car out of the garage and had to put the heated seats and steering wheel on. This was just for a short while...

Re: constant problems

This seems to be Vauxhall's stock answer to problems they can't resolve. We are not driving the cars far enough. Since when has the buying of a car dependent on how much you drive? Nowhere in the brochures does it state a minimum mileage to be driven.

Re: Stop / Start issues

Well first day out since full charge done. Relatively short local mileage and s/s worked all the time. Needs to give it a while to see if this continues or if battery charge goes down and it stops working.

Re: Stop / Start issues

Update in that the person Vauxhal customer service manager spoke to was not the dealer service manager. I managed to speak to him this afternoon and he was unaware of my problems. He is going to look into it, but can't see why I can't update the battery. When I pointed out that there were many compl...

Re: Stop / Start issues

Well that was a waste of time. Got through to a manager who basically said that the battery was as in the specifications in the brochures. In discussions with the service manager it is not just the mileage you do. Listening to the radio with the ignition off will drain the battery. That statement I ...
