Hi All,

I seem to have lost power when accelerating.

I was going up a hill, the turbo kicked in, and then it felt as though I had suddenly lost power.

The “Engine Failure: Repair Needed” light/ message then appeared on the dash.

The car now feels like I am driving a basic 1.2 with really poor acceleration. Still drives ok.

I am hoping it is just an issue with a pipe or turbo connection and not an issue with the turbo itself.

The engine was really warm after opening the bonnet/ hood.

Anyone experienced anything similar? If so, what was the outcome?

Thanks very much,

Stephen

Hi Steeevo2021 and Welcome to the forum

I would get your booked into the dealership as soon as possible so they can get a code reader on it. It could be that the car has corrected itself from a slight glitch but until the fault code it cleared it still thinks it has an issue.
Alternately you could purchase a code reader to see what the issue is but if its still under warranty then better to get it booked in for them to check.

As above really, if it's under warranty get the car to a main dealer who should read the stored fault codes and fix it.
If it's out of warranty and you have AA/RAC or similar with home start and the vehicle has "broken down" call them out. They should read the codes for you and come up with a likely cause.
Buy/borrow a decent code reader (GAPIID, higher end Autel etc) and read the full codes then google them. This won't fix it the problem but will give you a starter as how to.
Find a good local Vauxhall/Peugeot independent specialist, pay them to read the codes and they will recommend a fix.
