Faults after 11 months.

I thought I would share this with you. I bought my Grandland new, coming up for a year and the faults I have had are summarised. To be honest I am utterly disheartened by the attitude of Vauxhall towards there customers.

o Faulty panoramic Roof Blind, this took four occasions to fix.
o Faulty Headlamp unit, three occasions to fix.
o Electronic windscreen faulty, not fixed.
o Braking in reverse, the brakes clunk. After three occasions I have had to show Vauxhall technicians the fault. They agreed and skimmed the brakes on a number of occasions but the fault remained, even after replacing the discs and pads. This fault is still present and getting worse and is occurring when braking going forward. Vauxhall have no fix for it at this moment!
o Gear change. It is difficult to change gear and the noise and rubbing coming from the selector is intolerable. This was repaired in December, but after a few days it returned. I took it back to the dealer. They informed me that yes there was a fault but Vauxhall have instructed them not to do anything except to drive other Grandlands. This means there is no timescale to repair two serious issues.

So I am consulting with Consumer Advice and have written to auto Express highlighting what is going on or not. Has anyone else had similar faults.

Grandland X Elite Nav White Jade. Panoramic roof and mudflaps and a Nextbase 412 dashcam thats all it needs. :)

You've certainty had your share of problems. I would certainly be rather angry and would want the dealer/Vauxhall to get it sorted. Hope my Elite Nav is OK. Told it is in the country and should be at the dealers tomorrow.

Ive had issues (not as many as you though) ...its a brand new model....theres bound to be....but it sounds like my dealer has been a lot more accommodating than yours Mark to fix them.... which obviously isnt a consistent thing.

I bought my Grandland x Sport Nav brand new last July and we are starting to have issues with it.
ABS fault appeared on dash and kept bleeping until I took it to Vauxhall's
Noise from Brakes/steering when reversing like a droning sound
front brakes squeaking
Stop/start not working
faulty console glove compartment.

on investigation at Vauxhall's they claimed:
There's nothing wrong with the ABS and no fault found!
There's no noise when they reversed the car!
front brakes are ok and cant hear the squeak!
Stop/start is working ok
Faulty glove compartment on order and yet still hasn't arrived after two weeks!

I've sent a few emails now and not yet had a reply from the showroom's after care services and due to pay them a visit this weekend. can t believe that they fob you off stating that there is nothing wrong, they don't take the car out and drive it as we do so they will never find the fault.
not happy with Vauxhall's at the moment

I had my Grandland X elite nav auto for 4 months & 7,000 miles. Part X’d it for an Audi Q5 as I was very disappointed in it. Sounds like I got rid of it just in time!!

Got my elite nav new in May 2018. The electronic tail gate wouldn't activate with the foot swipe (11 appointments and 5 months to fix) radar detection for vehicle proximity packed up after going over a speed bump (4 visits including instructions to take it to a Peugeot dealer who just laughed at me and pointed out it was a Vauxhall and to take it to them) an emmisions fault code which Vauxhall said didn't exist but ended up doing a software reset to fix (3 visits) and the temperatures on the air con switching between left and right seats each time the ignition is turned on ( 3 visits so far but still not fixed.) It's my first brand new car after having 10 older Vauxhalls (always been a Vauxhall man) and I've been on more buses in the last 10 months than I have the rest of my life put together.. to say I'm disappointed is a major understatement.

Well I have had to wait 8 weeks from my last correspondence with Vauxhall over the brakes and windscreen issue as per advice from the Motor Ombudsman. So today I sent them my complaint regarding the outstanding faults,as Vauxhall have not responded..

So let's see what happens.

Had our Grandland 18 plate in december of '18.

Had it ONE DAY and I told them the gearbox was broken. Couldn't get it into 3rd without it grinding. Took a month of backwards and forwards for them to find the fault because I showed the vauxhall manager and got him to drive it out with me. Their "best mechanic" couldn't find any faults.
Not to mention the dashcam footage of them taking it half a mile for a test drive. Wasnt long enough. Warranty said to try A B & C... nothing worked. Then they wanted parts sending to them which is when I really kicked off....

Anyway, had a new gear box a week later! Not even a year old, not even 4k on the clock and it had a new gearbox.

Stop start wasnt working. Sound system kept turning off. Clock kept going blank and beeping - new battery needed!

Now the brake fluid is leaking and its squealing like mad.

I wish I'd rejected the car and had something else!
This car has been a nightmare. The lads in the garage laugh, "well it's basically a Peugeot 3008 with a Vauxhall badge." Cheers....

Go out on test drives... drive the car YOURSELF as you'll know how and when the faults happen. They cant deny it if you're in the car.
Vauxhall Warranty DO NOT want to pay for anything!

Any further issues from when you posted this?

as in one of my previous posts , ive got that many problems , its unbelievable on a new car of how many faults its got .

ive also had all only Vauxhalls for 35 plus years , and this is the worst new one .

All that's good is the gm Vauxhall parts , its the PSA Peugeot parts that are the problem ,

NOT enough GM Vauxhall parts on the car , too many PSA Peugeot parts on the car .

at the moment , im dealing with 3 different Vauxhall dealers ,it booked into all 3 dealers over a month period .

the reason is that each dealer can only deal with one problem at a time or it becomes too much for them .

If you mention loads of problems to them , they say we are not familiar with the grandland x yet .
its been out 3 years now , how long do they need ? .

one dealer for my dropped front doors ( PENTEGON )
one dealer for my headunit / screen problem ( SMITHS )
one dealer for peeling bumper paint . (EVANS HALSHAW )

then when that's all done , ill then pick 3 other problems for them to sort out between them ..

J.D. Power has released the results of its 2019 UK Vehicle Dependability Study, which measures the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) to find the country’s most dependable brands.
Vauxhall – 95 problems per 100 vehicles
Peugeot – 77 problems per 100 vehicles
It’s Peugeot, which flies in the face of those doom-mongers who warn against buying a new car from a French manufacturer. Could this be linked to Vauxhall’s similarly strong performance? Check back in 2020 to see if the two brands are able to repeat this year’s excellent results.
