Dead spot when pulling off

I have a diesel auto, and have just started to experience a dead spot when i pull off or increase speed when overtaking.
Maybe at a junction/roundabout when you need to pull off quite quickly i put my foot on the ascelorator but have just a second or two when the car does not respond.
Has anybody else experienced this issue ?
