It lights up even when the sensors are active.

I agree, nowhere as good as the Astra one, I think the best way to see that the car is locked, is the mirrors folded in.

I did test the alarm, by leaving the front windows open and sticking my head in. And yes it did all work correctly

So for an additional £2.99 on top of the £24k value of the car I found a quick tidy solution.

Sticks discreetly onto the back of the mirror. and doesn't look out of place, solar powered so no need to turn on and off...jobsagoodun.
