Ever since we purchased our Grandland Diesel Automatic from new, we have experienced intermittent juddering when travelling at speed.
We have noticed the vehicle dropping from 5th gear to 3rd and 6th to 4th, when the vehicle is juddering and we have to accelerate through the juddering. It can be quite frightening when this occurs. We have been to 2 vauxhall dealear, but they have not found an issue. There are no warning lights on the dashboard either.

Vauxhall suggested we take service manager on a road test, but as this issue is intermittent, we have had no joy? Is this a gearbox issue?

We only ever fill vehicle up with Premuim Diesel. Desperate for help.

I've had exactly the same problem. It started with an adblue issue a couple of months ago. I had no warning it was low until the engine warning light came on. The dealer garage changed the tank and pump and its still not registering. The car started juddering last week in the way you described so I filled up the adblue and it was fine again until today on the motorway. Had to rev a lot to keep it going and drop down gears. It's booked in with the dealer for adblue issue again next week (6th time in two months!). I'm hoping that's all it is. They couldn't find what was wrong with it and were waiting for Opel in Germany to get back to them.

Vauxhall had car for nearly 3 weeks. Had to get an engineer out from Vauxhall. Best they came up with was a reinstall of ems. This seemed to have worked, but it started juddering again on motorway and dropping gears from 6 to 4.

We have had exactly the same issues. When the car was about 8 months old it was juddering intermittently at various speeds then seemed to clear after s couple of minutes. The dealer found a flywheel protection code which was cleared and the car ran ok for another 12 months. A couple of months ago it started judddering again almost like a missfire in the engine. Back to the dealer no fault codes, eventually after consulting Vauxhall / GM Germany the crankshaft sensor was changed it was ok for a week the started again. Back to dealer for 4 weeks whilst they took advice from Vauxhall / GM again we were provided with a courtesy car for this period. Again no fault codes etc but we had managed to get some video which proved the fault. Vauxhalll had suggested to change and remap all the injectors which they have done and we have had the car back for a couple of days so far without fault. But exactly as you described this is intermittent. I have shown the service manager this site showing others are having the dame issue. To be fair to them they are trying their level best to sort this and have been excellent with us, but the lack of fault codes hasn’t helped. Will update this page if we finally solve this. Its a real shame as we like the Grandland.

Car going back into garage on Monday to have further checks. Vauxhall have advised dealer to change transmission fluid.

Dealer and Vauxhall engineer have never found a fault code.

Will update afterwards.

Car ran for approximately 600 miles following the injectors being changed on all types of roads including a 400 mile motorway round trip with no problems. Yesterday started juddering again. It’s a 1.6 diesel manual transmission. Told dealer they’re waiting to get a reply from Vauxhall. There’s at least three of us on this forum with the same issue one would hope that Vauxhall are collating between dealers. Will see what they come up with this time. Apparently there are three specialists who work uk wide who would normally come to inspect and hopefully offer suggestions...... but they’re still on furlough with the covid thing ! will keep the page updated.

Ours is an automatic diesel and 15000 miles. First treatment was reinstall of EMC and next solution is to change transmission fluid.

Hopefully that will have fixed it for good, I’ll let my dealer know. Ours is still juddering despite the injectors being changed. They had the vehicle in to download its software and any fault codes. Waiting to hear back from Vauxhall to see what the next option is.
