Should my car display a green car symbol when it detects another vehicle in front.
Also not sure my adapted cruise control is working anyone else have this issue?

Do you have the ultimate trim? Only ultimate has the adaptive cruise control.

No I don’t that would be why then. I assumed all models had it.

I thought the same - they nearly all have the auto-braking, but the adaptive is Ultimate only unfortunately
