Prospective new owner (well the wife is anyway)

Hi there, the wife is looking to change her Mokka 1.4 for a 1.2 auto Grandland x. She has seen a red one, 69 plate, SE with winter pack as she wanted heated seats and wheel.
If it works out, looks like I will be swapping her nextbase dashcam over and will be looking round for a dog guard. I have had look round and can only see the genuine dog guard (expensive) and the Travall which seems to have a odd fitting method. I can't sem to get the search function working and can't see any topic on here so was wondering which people use. A space saver spare may well be on the list of things to buy as well.

HI Beanie and Welcome to the forum.

I changed from a Mokka X 1.4 manual to a Grandland X 1.2 Manual with winter pack and I am enjoying ownership of it.
In regards to the Dog Guard and the spare wheel if you can get the Genuine Vauxhall part numbers and try Ebay for them as it will be much cheaper than the dealership.

I have also used Genuine Part search link below for their website who are reasonably priced and supply Genuine Vauxhall Parts.

The original dog guards are expensive from Opel
You can find alternative products on the internet

I had a look on Ebay for the Dog Guard P/N 95599851 and a seller has 5 available for £99.99 including postage.

Hi Mark.C

I have looked on Ebay and can only find a 18" Spare wheel kit. I am not 100% sure but only thought you could get 18" spare wheel and not 19".

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and the info.
I have seen this as per Grandlanx68's post (thanks)

However, it is different from the official Vauxhall website pictures as they show a guard with horizontal bars rather than the mesh.
I actually prefer the mesh type guard, and as long as it fits, I will get one ordered.
I take it that the spare wheel/kit fits straight in the well under the boot floor.

The only thing you can do is see if your local dealership will give you the part numbers some will and some wont.

Thanks for that, may ask.
Ultimately, if it isn't the correct one, it will go back

So, just had a look at the Vauxhall accessories PDF and the dog guard part number is 95599851 and is £227 including fitting. That's as if I cant take it out of the box, 4 bolts and put it in the car.
The picture is of a guard with three horizontal bars, not mesh, and looks nothing like the one in the above link. I think I will have to message the seller to see what he says.
