I have a set of roof bars from an Insignia I used to own. I have fitted them to my 2021 Grandland X 1.2 with a normal roof (no bars or points) and they seem secure. The roof box will only have a soft dog bed and some pillows in it. I've really yanked the bars hard and they stay put.
Does anyone think this is dangerous?
Thanks.

id imagine if you can properly shake the whole car about with the racks and nothing seems to budge you will be fine, Im poistive the roof rack companys just rip folk off anyway saying the footpacks are different for every make n model. bloody exspensive things for what they are thats for sure.

Thanks Millsy, that's pretty much what I thought. I'd actually used the Insignia bars on an Astra Tourer with no problems previously.

As long as its secure and doesn't move around it should be fine.

Thanks GRANDLANDX68. I'm confident that it's safe with a light load, can really rock the car with the bars.
