Collected 23MY ultimate grandland today. The infotainment screen has a grey square and white square in top left covering the external temperature reading. Any ideas what they may be and how to get rid?

That looks to me like a pull tab to remove a screen protector

That screen has a screen protector on it.

I would carefully cut off the top-end parts you see and leave the protector in place (have done this on my 2018 model and you cant tell it's there, also protects it from finger and cleaning scratches.)

It is a screen protector just like if you buy a new mobile phone you used to get them on there to protect the screens. The top left is the pull tab, so just peel off the screen protection, it doesn't serve any purpose on a new car and that's why they leave it as a white square to remind people it doesn't look right and to remove the protection film.
