Just picked up a Grandland with keyless entry and start. The electronic keys I have look as though they also contain a mechanical (conventional) key folded into the side. However despite all attempts I cannot open it. Also there is a sprung slide switch at the bottom of the key, it slides against a spring but doesn't appear to do anything. Can anyone help?

Hi
This may help - I found a pic of one with what seems to be with the key removed

Thanks. I just figured out that the corner metal part has to be pulled out with the latch slid against the spring. This results in a key but it doesn't really have any handle to it, other than the small chrome corner piece. I thought maybe then this somehow slots back into the existing plastic handle to use the key, but I couldn't find any way of doing this... You wouldn't be able to just use the extracted metal part without a handle to turn it, so still somewhat puzzled.....
