My Grandland has covered 16000 miles on an 18 plate, the oil level keeps dropping and I have been told by the main dealer the car isn’t used often enough although it’s used daily.

Any ideas

My opinion, the dealer reason is ridiculous.
An engine may burn oil during use but not when stood or due to infrequent use.
The motor trade will tell you that engines could burn up to 1 litre every 1000 miles. I must have been lucky as I don't top up between services.
If you don't have leaks, check your oil whilst using as many constants as possible, for example: stand in the same position and level ground if possible, use the same time lapse after switching off, engine temperature at normal prior to switching off. This is the better way of determining oil usage.
