Hi and can anyone help
Manual says that infotainement system should read picture files and movies AVI and MP4, but whenever i try the system does not see the files.
I have added jpg pictures to the usb and it finds them and displays them fine.

My have the sprort nav model 2018, so maybe this facility is only available on higher spec models. Has anyone else managed to play movies files ( obviously whilst stationary)

Thanks

Could be the formatting of the usb drive? Check if it is FAT or NTFS and try the other one?

Hi and thanks for that. i will try, and with a different USB stick ( 2 and a 3) The infotainement system recognises jpegs if you go through the pictures menu, but if you plug in the usb, it is not recognised by the system. I will try a new USB and just some music files and see what happens

I tried it today, and it played the WAVs, but didn't recognise the movie files.

The infotainment manual seems to imply that the simpler infotainment system (as fitted to the SE models) will play movies, but it’s not mentioned for the Navi 5.0? Seems odd, not that I would want to try and watch a film whilst driving!

The playable movie file formats are .avi, .mpg, .mp4, .divx, .xvid and .wmv. The resolution of the files has to be within a range of 720 pixels in widths and 576 pixels in heights. The frame rate has to be less that 30 fps. Usable codecs are divx, xvid, mpeg-1, mpeg-4 (mpg4, mp42, mp43) and wmv9 (wmv3). The playable audio formats are .mp3, .ac3, .aac and .wma. The displayable subtitle format is .smi.

hope that helps ya out ~ Franco

FYI info from 2013, may still be valid as it seems the most comprehensive selection.
