Hi, just picked up a new 68 plate 1.2turbo sports Nav after the previous one I had literally died and took over a month a diagnose. I had a 1.6 diesel turbo auto as a courtesy car. When driving it makes a strange whirling sound, the faster I go the louder/quicker the sound becomes. Is this a problem? Is it the turbo? Didn’t hear it in my original grandland or the courtesy grandland. Also should I have a spare tyre in the back. The last one did (18 plate) and why did they stop putting the heated windscreen in the sports Nav 68 plate??
I too have the whirling noise, vauxhall have said that its natural between 2000-2500 rpm on their latest bulletin but only in 2 gear....mine is when im third and above 2500 rpm! Dealership agrees thats it not right and have gone back to vauxhall. Coupled with my other issues with this car i will sending it back...i am not a happy customer!!
I’ve had my Grandland x sat nav two weeks
I also have a whirling noise when in 3rd year
If you take out of gear when going along the noise goes which tells me there is a fault in the gearbox ?
Have taken mine in today for the whirling noise. Previously took it in & the technician said he could hear it from the gearbox. Hope they fix it. Any updates on yours?
Vauxhall are saying they use two gear boxes in the Grandland. One a GM & one a PSA. Mine has a PSA one which whirls while driving. They call it ‘State of the art’ apparently. I’m guessing the GM one is better. Seems I’m unlucky to have the French one. The whirling noise is apparently normal operation. I’m not happy and feel I’m being fobbed off. This is definitely not ‘state of the art’. I’m gonna look into rejecting it!!
Anyone update from anyone else?
