P0171 is a generic obd code,it's reporting the effect (mixture enriched to it's limit) not where the problem is

Hi all. So it looks like it is the gpf. I believe this is inside the exhaust manifold and should be self cleaning. Might be because it is an automatic because it cleans mostly I deceleration. These are recent additions to petrol engines so may be a fundamental issue in the near future.

Finally got it into dealership 5 days ago. They can’t work out what is wrong with it. Paid extra for an in depth diagnosis. Said they have to confer with engine manufacturer in France. God knows.

Just had a call and they are saying it is the number one O2 sensor so they are going to fit it Monday. Fingers crossed.

Hi all. Just got a call. Unfortunately that didn’t fix it. They have the senior tech looking at it and he cannot diagnose the fault. Been without car for over 4 weeks.

Hi all. 3 months later. Dealer suspected bad unleaded fuel. Removed fuel from tank. Car now gets up to speed but keeps holding back on throttle response so is undriveable. Now getting fault codes P0638. P2173. P2074. Dealer hasn’t a clue.
