LH Wing mirror not folding

Hi all. I have 1.5 diesel grandland x. My mirror on the passenger side has stopped folding in. I have tried to encourage it when I lock the car but no movement at all. Is this a common problem? Also do I have to remove the whole door card to remove the mirror? Thanks in advance
